I'm asking this question, because I have nothing else to do this summer, (exept study the material I'm suppost to learn in 7th grade). Any good recommendations? I would really be happy if you guys can recommend a good book(s) that I can read so I don't remain bored. ^.^

Have you read the Harry Potter books they will keep you busy. The Keys to the Kingdom series is good too. I also like Eragon and Eldest.

Have you read Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli? I assigned it to my 7th graders over the summer, and they really enjoyed it!

Another great book was A Shingle Shard by Linda Sue Park. You may not feel you have anything in common with a young man in ancient Korea, but it is a POWERFULLY good story.

Did you already read Anne Frank? Perhaps you're better off reading that one in school.

The Giver by Lois Lowry is great. Futuristic but a good message, also. The ending is a bit odd, in my opinion. I think you'd like it.

Have you read Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants? You know it was a movie, but it was a book, too. Books are always better than the movies!!!

Good reading!

Ender's Game, by Orson Scott Card. Just right for a 13 year old. If you can't handle that you can always fall back on choose your own adventure or Hardy Boys (see Nancy Drew if you're a girl) Or, if you're really hard core, do some Goodkind (Sword of Truth) or Brooks (Sword of Shannara). If you're magical/historical, Seventh Son, by Card again. However, Ender's Game, yeah, its good...

I've been partial to Vernor Vinge. He's a science fiction author whose books are quite inciteful. He attempts to extrapolate current culture and technology growth into the future and his latest book, "Rainbows End" is quite interesting.
