If you don't have work credits for 10 years-it is points off.
What were the reasons of your denial from SSD.
Ask a lawyer--Legal Aid (one in every county-free or small fee) .
If you only have one income-there might be help-not always.
I would do that ASAP.
Sorry-unless you qualify for Medicaid -your insurances is gone. And if your badly disable--no one will insurance without a very high cost policy.
Not knowing all the details-it is hard how to help you.
Email me if you want. I did help with health benefits for a good time of my life.
It is a shame that many are in your position--we need National Health. I know it cost everyone.
Bad news--it is going to be worst for many-the State is running low everywhere. Your husband check will not keep up with cost of living--to many have abused the system. And it isn't an endless pot of gold.
The Disable will get hit the most-than the elderly-than families.
The forms for assistant are first based on a point system. The clerk who checks the paper adds the points if it passes it goes on-if not they reject it. First denials can be worked with.
See a Legal law and Consumers-both could help you.
An immigrant - or did you mean Illegal? Must wait too collect or be disable after working so many years. I don't believe any should suffer. But they do get extra points if that is what you mean. The time you stated for them if for them to be edible not collect.

you might try the social security office in your area or in this case contact a social security lawyer. they can be very helpful in these types of problems. i know because i am disabled myself.if your husband is receiving disability at this time. you might be able to get a check based on his record, also the other option is to check with your state social services office. some states offer a lot of benefits for disabled people in their area.its worth a try good luck i know firsthand how frustrating the whole process can be. as the rules change from state to state

although i cannot answer your question-i'm from the uk. i felt so much negativity here i had to say my piece-it is so much worse here in the uk-they get houses, benefits, free health on our free national health service,i'm english i'm back of thr queue for every thing-you see they are more vulnerable !-- But ! they don't make the rules our government's do,it's to entice the cheap (desperate) workers to come and help them at the top make more money-they don't suffer-so i direct all my many e-mails as near to the top as possible of the politicians-they even misdirect our anger away from them by encouraging the myth that the immigrants are to blame-they did not make these policies our own people did-please think again about who's really to blame;good luck lady you can beat the system with the tool you used to ask this question-they are the only one's profiting from your misery-tell them so.x

SSI isn't SS. That funding doesn't come directly out of your paycheck, and anyone eligible can apply. From what I understand it's for really bad situations for like being really old or hurt or blind, but that's what I recall, unless you can tell me different I don't think it's an immigration issue.

Who ever thought they ever hear me say that??

Keep applying and reapplying. MY mother SAYS anyone can get SSI.

When you get your FIRST denial GET AN ATTORNEY that deals with SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS!!!

They don't charge you UNLESS you win and it's ONLY a preset - predetermined amount set by the government.

I know what you mean about Immigrants getting EVERYTHING handed to them on a silver platter!!! Grinds me every time I hear about this stuff!!!!

US Citizens get the shaft each & every time!!!
