Well if u take things out of context yes they sound a bit misleading and that what most priest use to tell you of salvation in christianity. Reading the entire chapter is different I mean that was the time of war and as far as I know no innocent "infidels" were killed and forcing islam on anyone is haram(forbidden by islam). However I do know that they were charged jizya defense tax and they even use to protect synagogues and churches even entrusted with looking after it. They never ruled as barbaric as people made it out to be they had quite a good system. If this were the case they would've behaved like the crusaders and this never happened, many non muslims lived under islamic rule for hundreds of years.Get a proper copy of the quran because there are a lot of people publishing fakes .

After reading ALL of your "views' and interpretations of the Koran, I notice one thing ALL of you are leaving out.... The fact the HOLY BIBLE calls for MANY of the same things.... f we are interpreting things... ALL Religions have parts that most denounce... You do have a few on BOTH SIDES that corrupt the readings of both books... ISSIL, Westboro Baptist, Skin Heads. SO maybe instead of so much "interpreting" maybe people should apply some COMMON SENSE.... What worked way back then may have worked then but does not work now...
What do you think wouuld happen if the Westboro people were to take control of the US, The White house, Congress and senate. What do you think the USA would look like??? So before ANYONE judges another person faith remember WE have our own stain on our faith... WE ALL DO

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called 'hypocrites' and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter. An example:

O believers, take not Jews and Christians as friends; they are friends of each other. Those of you who make them his friends is one of them. God does not guide an unjust people. - 5:54

Slay them wherever ye find them and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. - 2:191

I really wish I had the answer and a direct source...but I'm still working on reading the Koran. All I can tell you though, is that the Koran is known to be up to interpretation.

If you're searching for an answer, the internet is sometimes a bad source because there are many websites that are corruptive to the Koran. You can grab and english translation yourself, or ask a scholar.

Just go to this website, it lists most of the violent verses in the Koran. Judge for yourself:

I know absolutely nothing about the muslem faith or teachings. But if it is not one of blood and gore, why are the ones who know better not standing up and screaming for the elimination of those who are tearing their belief system to shreds?

The one time I know it says something along those lines is that if you are kicked off your land or home you have the right to fight back.
