Mythbusters did a test on this one:
The amount of time the food has to fall to gather germs, and the amount of time it has to be on the ground after it gets there to gather germs are about the same.
It'd have the same amount of germs if you caught it before it fell and ate it, than it did if you ate it after it hit the floor.

That is almost too ridiculous to answer. If any food should fall on the floor, the only proper place to put it, is in the garbage, not your mouth. It doesn't matter if you pick it up in a fraction of a second. Throw it away. It probably won't hurt you to eat it, but it is just unsanitary.

no germs on contact but who cares there are just as many germs on you hands and on the food to begin with a little dirt never hurt anyone

I believe they have proven that too be true!
They still get germy, just not as much after like 5 or 10 seconds etc...

if you wash it but everyone believes tat i mean it wont hurt but it depend where you drop the food it better be in a clean place lol otherwise nooo an never ever
