If you could choose between having a gay child?

socrates, all that hate must make you need a daily nap. I have more of a chance of getting into heaven then you do with that crappy attitude. Answers like that are the reason people run from Christianity.

Mystic, are you saying a gay child = suffering in excruciating pain? To my knowledege being gay is not painful like severing a limb or something, and not terminal.

I'd pick the gay child a thousand times over. I don't know how to parent a gay child, but I'm sure you figure it out. I'd just hope the child would forgive my own fumblings, especially if I didn't know until he/she was an adult. It might be awkward at first, but it would get worked out.

If any child were to discover that he or she were gay, I hope he or she would give the parents a chance to come to terms with the lifestyle. This could be read as a suicidal question rather than a simple exercise in philosophy. Suicide is a permanent answer to a temporary problem. And even if the parents never come to terms with it, death is never a better choice. Find support outside the family.

I will never be given that choice to make. Of all 5 of my children, not once have I ever stopped and thought about whether or not they would be straight or gay when they grow up. Because I don't care what they are. I am happy they are alive, healthy and pure. Who would ever choose to have their child die over something so foolish? My question to you is would you rather your child die or would you rather your child alive, suffering in excruciating pain with a terminal disease? Do you understand where I am going with this? Please don't be offended.

how would a gay child hurt a parent? the child isn't going to hit on a parent. parents love their children for who they are not what they are. any parent having a child understands that the child being gay could be one possibility in life. that's something you accept, that child may bring more joy to your life than you can imagine, there are far more better reasons a parent could (I didn't say should) wish a childs life to end before birth, mental retardation or something like that, which most parents of mentally retarded children would never have wished such a thing, being gay wouldn't limit the quality of life the child could enjoy, so I take it you understand my answer is: having a gay child wouldn't bother me at all. but I also have children so I know what a joy they can be.

I would have no problem having a gay child. I would not be disappointed if my children were gay, I just want them to be happy in life whether it be with someone of the opposite sex or the same sex.

Chidren are not born gay. Homosexuality is a learned behavior. Attractions between men are healthy and inspires strong friendships. Those attractions are perverted when they lead to sexual activities. Children learn to be gay like they learn to play a piano, because an adult taught them or decieved them into believing it was an acceptable lifestyle, or that they were created that way. God created sex, Satan perverted it. God hates homosexuality, and condemns it. He does not create something just to destroy it.

id rather have a gay child. im not against gay people. i think its totally normal bc its not their fault. its not like its a bad thing either. if my child was born gay i would accept him/her. why would i kill them for being attracted to a gender...who cares if its the same gender they are. like you are attracted to women...they're attracted to men. big deal. uncontrolable...you shouldn't be killed for being gay. i think this question isn'y really like a good question bc its like who wants their child to die? who cares if they're gay. big deal. be open to all people. we all bleed red blood.
