Because you are asking this, one would conjecture that you are in the habit of praying every night. If so, I am curious as to why you don't want to pray tonight. It is that God didn't do what you wanted Him to and so you are giving Him the cold shoulder? If your intention is to hurt Him, you have, but He will still be God in the morning and you will be further away from Him.
Perhaps you are avoiding God because you believe you have displeased Him. If so, now is the time you should pray. Ask forgiveness and for the strength to resist that temptation the next time it comes your way.
Whatever the reason, or even the lack of one, when we invite God to share our lives with us and to do what He will with our lives, we enter into a friendship with Him. I don't know about you, but it would really hurt me if one of my friends suddenly stopped talking to me.
I hope that whatever is troubling you and getting in the way of your ability to pray tonight will be resolved. I will remember you when I pray tonight. God bless.

Ashley, you need to resolve what is making you feel like you don't want to pray first, then pray that God helps you with these struggles until you don't feel that way any more. Its like going some where you don't want to go, like school, for example...once your there you don't have that feeling anymore and you get to do something fun and you feel glad that you went to school that day. So just pray anyway and God will give you a blessing and take away those negative feels too. Try it and see.

At work we talk about "acting your way into feeling." For example, I might not feel like going to the gym and working out, but as soon as I get there and start exercising, I feel good and actually want to keep going.

Just be honest. Tell God that you are tired, that you don't feel like praying, and then go from there. He knows and still wants to hear from you anyway.

When I don't know what or how to pray, someone told me to think "ACTS." A=adoration C=confession T=thanksgiving S=supplication

"Lord, You are amazing, the creator of everything--I praise you in everything that happens. I admit that I don't even feel like talking to you right now, that I let my emotions determine my actions...Thank you for keeping your arms open even when I am not running towards them. Please give me a fire that burns for you once again..."

If you don't feel like praying tonight, don't. It's better to take a night off of praying (as if you need to pray to win God's favour) than to take God's Name in vain.

God Knows your needs. You pray for other people. Pray for other believers so they may not succumb to temptations, and pray that Jesus knocks on the door of a person you know.

There will be many sleepless nights, over prayer.

Here are the Rules of the Universe:

1) You may do anything you want to do*.

2)You don't have to do anything that you don't want to do.*

*As long as you are willing to accept the consequences.

Sooooo, what are the consequences of not praying?

It sounds to me that for you, praying is more of a duty or chore than anything else. >.<

I don't know if you are a Christian, but if you are, think of it like this:

Praying doesn't have to be "by the book", reciting a bunch of written rhymes used thousands of years ago.

Pray as if you're having a conversation with God. Tell him about your day, ask for advice on your troubles, and don't forget to tell him how much you love him.

If you do that, hopefully, you won't find yourself asking this type of question again...

^__^

Good night, and God bless.

If you don't have the intention then there's no point. Prayer isn't about actually doing it--it's about your intent. If you're doing it just to please God well that's pretty dumb because God will continue to be Himself with or without your prayers. But if you pray because it will make YOU feel like a better person then it is benefiting YOU. The whole point of prayer is to benefit the person spiritually. Prayer is like meditation. It helps your soul.
