I'm a 100% left-handed woman, who has been called a "lefty" all my life, especially when I step into the batter's box. At times when I'm throwing a ball or Frisbee, others will make a da-doo about it. What would you say in return? "Righties" have the "right" to respond to this question as well.

Who cares? Better than being called a curse word or insulting name, right?

Only 10% of the population is left-handed. You're special. Be happy.

Why is there a need to respond? So what? You are a left handed person, or a lefty.

I would respond by not really giving a damn.

However, if you are really offended by this, you should respond by telling the people you would appreciate it if they didn't call you "lefty".

What's to be offended about? It's not like they're insulting you; it's just what you are. I'm the only righty in my lefty family and I don't think anything of it when they call me a "righty".

I am right handed and my son is left handed. I have read often times that left handed people are more intellectually inclined. So, I guess you should really take it as a compliment. Also, most people are right handed so you are special. And if we are at the right hand of God when we die, you will have the advantage since you are left handed. You will be on His dominate side (assuming He is right handed as is implied) and He will be on your dominant side as well. Don't be offended. Maybe they are jealous. but it sure is hard to teach a "lefty" to write when you are right-handed.

I would be honored to be a Lefty... but.. If the left side of your brain controls the right side of your body, then Lefties are the only ones in their Right mind!

I embrace my lefthandedness. I dont mind being called a lefty...it's almost a compliment because it sets me apart from the rest. I think alot of people call us lefties when they are just making an observation. I've never found it offensive.

There's nothing much to respond about. If you have to respond each time someone calls you a lefty, it could get frustrating and tiring. If they go all out to call you lefty and keep repeating it, call them "idiot" repeatedly too.

Lefty is not a insult. Embrace your leftiness. We are more creative, absract and artistically inclined then righties. Left is heaven.

It's obviously not abad thing to be called 'lefty' since it's not a bad word or mean worn but If it's really that serious than just say please don't call me that. Otherwise I really suggest you lighten -up. Realize people mean you no harm and can do you no harm by calling you that. Not like you can really make'em stop calling you that. I suggest you ignore it and be a proud 'lefty'.
