I can't forget about this guy. I haven't spoken to him in weeks, and although he was at one point my closest firend, he was honestly never a huge chunk of my life. I never once let myself falsely believe that the feeling was mutual. Still, I can't get him out of my head. It's very distracting, not to mention a bit painful.

Could it be the fact that I can't talk about it with anyone? All my friends were his friends, and, because it's summer, I can't just go out and meet new people.

I never had crushes in high school, so i don't know how to deal with this. Is it normal, or should I seek some kind of help?

I think it is totally normal. Its funny because people can effect you months or years after you've seen them. It is so easy to take them for granted while you're with them, but then something happens in your life that makes you start remembering how special they were to you.

I think you will be able to get past it; it just takes time. You will probably move on, but never forget him for whatever reason.

you are just as normal as any other person out there....no matter what ANYBODY says. theres going to be plenty of guys in your life that your going to meet maybe even one time an fall madly in love with. thats just how it is. in a few weeks you may get over it. you may not, but it just depends on the whole situation an what you are feeling inside. i cant exactly help you with your problem becase i dont know too much about it, but all i can tell you is that you are normal. weve all been there and done that. :)

I think sometimes we tend to idealize people. Instead of visualizing yourself and this person in a wonderful romantic relationship, try to stick to the realities of the situation. There must be a reason why you never got together. Try to stop obsessing. Stop yourself from having these thoughts and try to think of something else. You're actually mourning the loss of something that never was.

It is emotion, and yes normal as such. It could also be a subcontious whisper that something bad has happened to him.
