Honest, faithful, supportive, loving, level headed the list is long. I do think that men should also possess the same, it is not a one way street. Honest - honesty is the best policy, we do not want a relationship where one party just lies to the other, which will lead to the next, being unfaithful. Faithful - do not think I need say anything on this, so difficult for some. Supportive - in any relationship one party may experience difficult periods job, family friends and they may need their partner for just a hug or kind words of encouragement. Loving - Show affection, surprises (lunch at work, nice tex or phone call, chilled bottle of wine etc). Level headed - needs someone to make decisions and give suggestions, in other words have a positive input in issues that affect the family.

Some qualities might be patience, kindness and sensitivity towards a guy so he will want to come home to you after a long day at work. Men these days, or more stressed than ever due to work demands/expecations, so if you can create a home environment that he can relax and be himself in, he will really appreciate that.
Also it's helpful to realize, that some guys communicate differently than women in that they take time to open up about themselves to establish emotional intimacy.
