This question is being put to a vote because I could not find a good answer. Most did not give me what I was looking for.
Also some of these freaking christians can't read. I wanted to know why people didn't believe in God, not why they do!
America is lost.

I believe god is something other than a human like form. More Like god is the extremely powerful vessel (like an energy ball) that contains all the good in the world. The devil would be the same for the evil. They are only the vessels in which our energies live, nothing more. The powers are strong & out of our present day reality mostly because of stories like "The Bible" God is Good. But it's time to look outside of the written text.

I do believe in God and I pray. I do not go to church and I have never gone in my life. However, while this is my belief I find it a little hard to understand.. Which religion is right??/ How come people believe that their Religion is the only one to follow?? There are also things in the Bible that I don't know if I belive. Like seriously how did Noah get all those animals on the boat without them eating one another...

much of bible based religions are based on lies that control people wth fear and guilt..if you want the real story, read "Pagan Europe" Holy Blood Holy Grail, Bloodlines of the Holy Grail and Genesis of the Grail Kings".. I'm not saying its all bad..Some people need to be controled, they need rules like this because they don't know how to act otherwise on their own.. If you check out your history. You'll find that Bible based religions have taken nearly all of their holy holidays from Paganism. Yule otherwise known as Christmas..and touted as "jesus's buirthday" is in fact a wiccan/pagan craft practice thousands of years older than Christianity. Oddly it's a celibration of birth more or less..Wicca by the way is just a new word for a stone age old religion and means "craft of the wise.. or witchcraft..

Evolution theory. Nobody has ever seen God (Why hide?). People make up religions, not God. Is it easier to believe we all evolved or that one person is so great he/she can create everything in the world. It isn't likely something could be that powerful. Science can explain so much...why think that there's this random powerful being out there?

I believe in a higher power, but if you mean a religious god, I don't believe...

Nothing has ever moved me to believe in a god predefined by other people...it just doesn't make sense to label my faith and try to convince myself (as a person that tries to think rationally) that all of these highly unlikely and sometimes completely hypocritical things happened exactly like people (who had agendas) say it did multiple thousands of years ago...in short, I'm a skeptical thinker...I seek knowledge in what is, by eliminating what isn't, and organized religions don't get very far when you apply that type of thinking...

The proof of God lies within each of His believers. God is not a person, not physical but is Spirit in a Spiritual world. The mystery of God however is understanding how as sinful and imperfect as we are that God would seek to reach out to us and provide a way of sacrifice for our imperfections and unbelief.

Occam's Razor - "All things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually correct."

Somewhere on some hidden vantage point is a being that watches your every move, tracks your every sin, and after you die, judges your life and decides whethere or not you should be allowed to enter some place that nobody has ever seen or can even point to.

OR

What we see is all there is.

NO there is no proff what god would allow millions to suffer and die everyday like john lennon said "Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn't argue about that. I'm right and will be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now; I don't know which will go first, rock 'n' roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right, but his disciples were think and ordinary. It's them twisting it that ruins it for me.

Same reason I don't believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. A better question might be, If you believe in god, why?
