With all these comments, I bet you have decided never to breed.
YEH right, people are going to bred regardless of want is said.
The least we can do is try to give a sensable answer to an impossible question.
I. Never breed your dog until she is at least 2 years of age.
2. Have your vet check to ensure she is built to able to deliver the babies. Have him check to make sure she is free of all genetic traits you do NOT want to be passed to the puppies.
3. Your friend will need to have the same done to her male (not the part about if he can deliver the babies)
4. Seperate the female and male you want bred from the other female, at least as long as you have your female at her house.
5. Save a large amount of money to have for when the puppies are born, for the vet visits to get mom and babies checked out at one week of age, then puppy shots will need to start at 7 to 8 weeks.
You will need to have the puppies wormed every two week.
6. If both dogs are in heat, he may well be more interested in one than the other. But he should get around to yours eventually. It is not something that can be forced.
Just be sure to mark on your calander the exact date she was bred, ideally she will need to be bred at least two times on two seperate days (preferably two days very close together)
7. At about 45 to 50 days you should be able to look at your dog and determine if she is pregnant, her stomach will be about twice normal size. If not, go to a vet and have her checked to be sure.
8. Do you have any idea if either of the females are actually in standing heat, do you even know how to determine this? If you cant even tell if they are in standing heat....Sweetie, there is absolutely no way anyone can give you any advise, that would be like explaining to a two year old how to bake a cake.
If you are at all worried about any of this, dont bred this time, let her skip this heat. You can always try again in about 5 months (dogs come in heat about ever 5 to 8 months)
It will give you time to determine if you really want to let her have puppies, if she is not built to carry babies you will be KILLING your dog.
It will also give you more time to get all the facts about breeding.
This is about all the advice I can give. Hopefully it has actually been of some assistance.

ok first most people spell it shih-tzu second as a breeder myself i am wondering if you know what you are getting yourselves into, do you have all the adequate supplies and a 24 hour vet that is ready to be at your house or at the office in less than 20 minutes to perform an emergency c-section if neccessary small dogs usually have more complications and have to be watched closely breeding is a full time job that has to be done the right way, those puppies will need at least two rounds of shots and deworming before they go to new homes mine get three to be safe and they cost a good chunk of change because in order to get the supplies at warehouse prices you have to have 50 breeding dogs so you are going to pay full price for each shot each time for each puppy,

I wouldn't breed the dog the same day as the other dog is being bred. high potency. Dog's have std's also. so be careful. if you really want to breed to this dog it is best to do it between the 11th and 13th day. or second week in heat. keep the other female away then he will eventually want your dog.

DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE!!!
For every puppy you breed you are killing a puppy in a shelter, because that is one less home looking to adopt one.
Call Shitzu rescue groups in your area, your vet will have the number, and ask them how many homeless purebreeds they have right now.
Please, PLEASE, please, get her spayed, if you can't pay call animal control, they have programs to help.
We don't need anymore dogs, too many of them are being killed in shelters everyday because there are not enough homes for all of them.

It depends on if she's ready to bread.. is it her first period? You might just want to put your female and the male together and leave the other female out. Then they will likely bread...

If you are not a professional breeder, please don't try. There are too many strays at it is.
