why does a dog eat grass sometimes

If their stomach feels sick they will eat grass. A little bit helps to calm the stomach. If they really feel sick they will keep eating grass until they throw up. Grass is not digestible and therefore has no nutritional value to dogs or cats.

Some dog experts say it is for salad, others say it is because they have an upset stomach. Mine eat grass sometimes and puke, other times they dont.

WHEN DOGS HAVE AN UPSET STOMACH, THEY EAT GRASS AND IT RELIEVES THE STRESS, WOULDN'T ADVISE BRINGING THEM INTO THE HOUSE RIGHT AFTER EATING GRASS THOUGH

They eat grass as a Peptobismol... Not only dogs do this, but cats also do...

Upset tummy. Are you switching foods? Are you feeding table scraps? Both are bad for a dogs tummy

I've heard that they do this because it will make them vomit. It's not just any kind of grass either.

Mine do too. I let them eat as much as they feel they need and walk them around a little. Doesnt take long they barf it all right back up ;)

my dog did the same thing -then would throw it up,a friend said it was because her stomach was upset

Actually read that there is no scientific reason for this. They may just like the taste.

I DONT THINK ANYONE KNOWS FOR SURE, BUT JUDGING THE AMOUNT MY DOG EATS, THEY MUST LOVE THE TASTE.
