ever had or known someone to have a felony assualt charge and a charge of branishing a firearm, if anyone has what sorta of jail time does that carry?

well last weekend my husband and this guy got into an arguement and he pulled a knife on my husband(of course the guy was drunk) and then the guy left and the next day the police showed up at my house saying that the guy had said my husband pistol whipped him and robbed him for 40 dollars. I can't say if my husband did it or not becauseI was asleep and he was running the streets, and we live in virginia and he has had simple assault but his record isn't great

Impossible to answer without more details so repost it. State occurred, degree of injury, type of weapon, Age of victim,Age of offender, criminal history of offender, Race, wealth of offender, any possible defences, circumstances. Range could go from dropped charges to life....

That sound like aggravated assault to me. After a plea bargain the defendant may see 1-5 years in a state penitentiary, not county jail.

the only one i know that did that was shot by officers because he was brandishing it to them they were in the right to shoot him, he was an ***. the jail time depends on if it was a first offence and a few other factiors depending on the state, so it is really hard to answer the qustion
