Eat sugar!
A study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that one teaspoon of ordinary table sugar swallowed dry cured hiccups immediately in 19 out of 20 people.
Repeat it three times at 2 minutes intervals if the hiccups do not stop immediately.

this works for my kids............ get a half a glass of water, put you mouth on the rim of the glass of the opposite side that you normally drink from. Bend and the waist so that the water comes up to your mouth in the upside down position. Drink 5 or 6 swallows, then get back to regular position. Repeat if necessary. Good Luck

The thing that works for me is holding my breath. (Every remedy makes you hold your breath so I just cut out all of the fluff.) Take a deep breath and hold it. If you hiccup take another deep breath and hold it. Repeat process until your hiccups have subsided.

Hold your breath as deeply as possible for as long as you can - any bit of exhale will kill the whole process. It helps me to take in tiny repeated sips of water, while keeping the air completely sucked in. Within the process you can easily exhale, just a bit, without knowing it. If it doesn't work, do it over. If you have done this successfully, and you can no longer hold your breath, it's time to finally exhale and...voila!

actually i've heard sometimes that drinking soda pop could help. the gas accumulates in your stomach and as it makes its way up to a "burp" it brings up the air in your stomach causing the hiccups. give it a try. GL

Tried drinking water.. deep breathes and everything? Honsetly, i know theres a lot of wise tales like that (plus being scared, ect.) but they never worked for me. Most often its easiest to wait them out. MOST times they arent serious or chronic. If they last for an EXCEPTIONALLY LONG Time.. call a Dr. of course.

Drink some water, in hale and exhale. Then inhale, hold yoru breath with your hands on your ears and think about the last time you saw a white horse, or had mashed potatos. Then exhale.

hiccups are a form of indigestion so put your head back and swallow sips of warm water to which you have added a pinch of bi-carb soda
