The Dewey Decimal System does not divide books into fiction or non-fiction - it divides books into one of 10 main classes. Religion is its own class (the 200s), Literature is another (the 800s). Naturally, religious books are included in the Religion class, in different subclassifications depending on the type/subject of the book.

As reported, these books are in fact in the 200's section of the library. This seems strange to many, largely because libraries do separate out their fiction novels from the nonfiction when shelving. Keep in mind that folklore (including tall tales like Paul Bunyan and fairy tales like Cinderella) is also found shelved with the nonfiction in 398.2 - it seems strange to see folktales in the "nonfiction" section, and that might help us remember that not all number books are nonfiction.
