The problem is that you do not understand the definition of Liberalism.

The following is a book that explains Liberalism from a biblical Christian viewpoint.

I am not arguing with your statement, but don't forget that what is considered liberal nowadays may not have been two thousand years ago. I think that loving your enemy and turning the other cheek aren't necessarily liberal notions, but moral and righteous notions. I'm not sure what lost coin you meant, but I'll look it up. As for water to wine... everyone drank wine at that time, because oftentimes the water was unfit (unclean) to drink.

OK - I read about the Parable of The Lost Coin. A woman has 10 coins, loses one, looks diligently in her house for it, and rejoices when she finds it. I don't think that is a liberal notion, either. Here is a quote from the source listed below:
"The housewife who lost a coin faced something of an economic disaster, since the value of the coin would be equivalent to her husband's daily wage. What would she say to her husband when he returned home from work? They were poor and would suffer greatly because of the loss. Her grief and anxiety turn to joy when she finds the coin. Both the shepherd and the housewife "search until what they have lost is found". Their persistence pays off. They both instinctively share their joy with the whole community."
I would think that all people, liberal and conservative alike, would be happy to find money they had previously lost.

Jesus was not crucified because he was a liberal. However, that said. His teachings of Love and tolerance"Let he is who without sin cast the first stone" is the basis of His life and is a very Liberal point of view. You would not recognize this by the Christians of today.-- God weeps--------especially since it was also said to go into your closet and pray.

In many ways Jesus was a liberal for his time. But "conservative" and "liberal" are really loaded terms aren't they ?

Jesus condemned impure(sexual) thoughts- ultra conservative ?

And how exactly is turning water in wine liberal ?

Politics and economics.

He was a threat to the people in power. It's in most history books to review the cultural climate of Jesus' times; if you correlate that with new works of non-fiction that explore the possibilities surrounding the crucifixion, it seems to be a plausible explanation.

In short, too many people liked his teachings to let him get off scott free so he was eliminated. They just didn't understand how it was going to snowball --- again, for political and economic reasons.
