I am just curious, have you talked to a psychiatrist or psychologist about what is going on? Racing thoughts that cause you to forget important details and worrying which eventually leads you into a low mood can be signs of something much different. These could be signs of a mood disorder called bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is when somone goes from being manic or really happy and outgoing, energetic, and less need for sleep, with racing thoughts, to being depressed. There is also a differentiation in degree of mania. Some people never get full blown manic where they are super happy. They reach what is called hypomania, where they have excess energy, racing thoughts, and cannot concentrate, which can cause great irritability and then they hit a low, or depressed state.

Sounds like you may have some anxiety and depression issues. When you're anxious your thoughts run wild. With anxiety/panic attacks, everthing that happens that's out of the ordinary or even typical events can make worrying/racing thoughts a great obstacle to lead a normal life. Even your sense of hearing can become amplified by an attack.
Writing in your journal can help relieve the anxious feelings. Which be reading your question, it does seem to help you quite a bit. However, when you are having a more mild bout with anxiety, and you forget to write in the journal, it sends you into a minor depression.
My best advice is for you to seek counseling to figure out what's really going on and maybe start on some meds to calm you down.
There's medication that won't leave you hyper or like a zombie.

Here are a couple of quick and clear tips:
Try meditation - they have techniques that help you control your mind.
Don't dwell on past events, they already occurred and there is nothing you can do to change them, rather focus on your current life because that you can control.
Learn to forgive, Jesus had a reason for teaching that, people who don't forgive live in hatred and eventually will feel regret for their behaviors -nobody wants that...
Don't worry about what others think about you. Look at life in this light; everyone interprets life through there own perspective, so 5 people might view the same event and come up with 5 different interpretations of the same event. Who's right? Each person living in their own unique experience.
You can do it if you put some faith into it.

Some people are natural worriers. And I can be. But this frantic racing of thoughts only makes you depressed (as you know) and makes the problem of forgetting worse.
It may help to set time aside at the beginning and during the day to quite deliberately do nothing. The pattern of worrying constantly has to be broken, and that is one way to do it.
If there are things you HAVE to do that you are afraid you might forget to do, try making a schedule and leave it somewhere convenient so you can check items off as you get done with them.
Most importantly, see a doctor or therapist to help you get control again- whether by mental exercises, or by medicine- or a combination of both.
Good luck!

Actually, its not necessary to drag religion into everything. Anyway, are you under treatment (medical) for any type of hyperactivity, or depression? Are you suppressing bad feelings concerning something you don't want to face? Or, are you just a hyper, fidgety type of person? If its any of the first three, you should get counseling and/or consultation on possible medication. If you're just antsy, and forgetful, with fleeting thoughts you can't control with no medical reason, I would say that you need an outlet (hobby) for all that unused, CREATIVE energy. Do you have any hobbies? Like puzzles (the mental kind, like Mensa uses)? Find an outlet for your excess mental activity, or, even, physical exercises. If none of that seems to help, go and see your doctor again, or a counselor, or, someone to talk to OTHER than us (on Yahoo Answers).

It appears, because of the symptoms you describe, that you might possibly be suffering an attention deficit disorder. ADD is a common, persistent, annoying disturbance that I have suffered from in the past. Finally, I had just enough courage to consult my doctor about it. Fortunately, he prescribed Ritalin for me and it turned out to be extremely helpful. It did not solve all my problems, but, really allowed me to maintain attention to my study and work.
The symptoms you describe are so much like mine that I truly believe you can find solace by involving your personal physician and/or psychologist to aid your recovery. Don't forget to look up ritalin on google to find out more about it.
The very best of luck to you ... and keep up the fight!

Sounds like you have Bipolar.. Have you seen someone for it? You need to see a psychiatrist and he can get you diagnosed and on meds. A mood disorder is from your brain chemicals being off, you cannot just pray it away.
I have bipolar ll and I take lithium and an antidepressant and I also take klonopin (for severe anxiety). I have been stable for several years now on this combination.. You CAN feel better with the right meds.
Email me if you want, there is also a great yahoo group that might be helpful to you.

I have a lot of those symptoms, as well as many others. I know how distressing it is :( Have you been to a psychiatrist? If not, that would be a good place to start. Some medicines can really help... I'm on Prozac, Effexor XR, Seroquel, Trazodone, and Xanax and allthough I still have symptoms, they are a lot less terrible then they used to be.
Good luck!

you're no longer to any extent further stricken than many human beings. you have independence, your guy or woman condo, an sufficient earnings, scientific and psychiatric care and a mom that loves you. have you ever seen volunteering the place you could help toddlers that have been in worry with the regulation or that are deprived, like huge Brothers, huge Sisters, or something else useful and powerful on your community. perhaps help with education or take a style. you have alot in comparison to some human beings and your leg is healing. Your concepts will heal too, in case you enable it, in case you artwork with your medical doctors and with your psychiatrist. in case you attempt to attempt against all and sundry and each thing, you in basic terms finally end up surrounded via adversarial human beings. Be greater delicate with your self and human beings. once you desire to rage, bite your tonge, turn around and walk away. once you combat, human beings combat back. once you're style, human beings would be style, and existence gets greater proper. perhaps start up engaged on build up your leg muscle tissues, ask for actual scientific care and be effective to human beings attempting that might assist you. attempt that. you will get greater proper.

Get a book of pictures and sit down to look at it. Try something abstract like Picasso, or some modern art that doesn't really look like anything. Concentrate on it, and figuring out what it is everytime you catch yourself worrying or having racing thoughts.
