I am a college student planning to eat microwave food as my basic meal....

though i might eat out sometimes, but i would more or less be eating microwave food most of the time. (microwave food such as "hungry man" and "meijer")

do you think it would be safe to do that?

if you have personally eaten microwave foods for a long period of time, how long did you eat it for? (1 year or more?)

and does it have any effect on your health? any good recommendations? perferably without preservative and all...

I sure hope so, since I've been eating microwaved food for more than 40 years. Microwaves are just another way of heating food for cooking. If anythiing, some foods (mainly vegetables) cooked in a microwave are heathier than stove top cooking since very little water is used that can dissolve vitamins and minerals.

It's not the re-heating that is a worry , it's that you left it out for 3-4 hours. I'd chuck it out. If it had been in the refrigerator the whole time, no problem. Any time cooked food is left out of the refrigerator for longer than a few minutes, it is iffy about not getting bacteria. Better safe than sorry.

I think buying fresh fruits and vegatables would be better. Suppliment the microwave with some actual food. Anything to microwave is usally pretty overprocessed.

I think the microwave part won't hurt you.

Eating prepared foods with lots of aditives might.

Maybe go on the meal plan at school instead.

I have always heard that the waves that are used to warm the food denature it and possibly make it harmful to your body. I personally stopped using one after reading some articles from around the world.

It's safe, but you really need to eat more than that, now and then. Take acooking class, or something.
