I don't think there's been flooding in New York City, but there definitely has been in parts of New Jersey. It's been raining off and on for the past several days, but nothing much out of the ordinary that should be of concern. My dad's flight into Newark tonight was delayed over an hour tonight because of thunderstorms, but that's just typical summer weather, and is highly transitory.

Anyhow, if you've been reading about the flooding in NJ, you've nothing to worry about this far in advance - your travel plans are still close to a month away, and whatever weather is going on now will be over long before you get here. Check back closer to time if any roads are closed or airports are delayed, but I don't see where a little bit of rain a month before you're planning to travel should be a problem at all.

no not realy. most of the flooding caused by recent rain has been west and north of the city. on occation the subways may flood during a heavy sustained downpore, but that is presently being addressed[ clogged drainage system] then there is the occational burst "water main" that might flood a street or two..... and july is pretty dry in ny. as far as hurricanes.. if we have them they are usually in september, not much rain, and usually east of new yor city

No, I don't think so...my parents all live in NYC and they've been telling me that the weather hasn't been all that bad there.
