Ranch is not unhealty, dressing doesn't take away the healthy calories, it adds calories, depending on how much you use is the key. Always get dressing on the side. The experts typically tell us to go with a vinegarette, balsamic vinegarette has a little kick to it. Less calories and is good for you. Also, you want to focus on organic fruits and veggies. The more natural your intake, the better you can burn off calories and obtain some real nutrition. If you are eating salads from fast food chains, you are defeating the purpose of eating fruits and veggies. And you also have to watch which exercises you are doing, some exercises will make you bulky. Low impact, stretching exercise like Yoga and Pilates are good and you only have to do them once a day, and if you want to throw in a little walk for about an hour is good, but 5 times a day, you might want to cut back on that a bit, I know professional athletes that don't train that hard.

Ranch dressing can be healthy; check the fat content and the sugar content. There are some excellent organic dressings that will fit the bill.

No it does not. I was told that when you eat a salad as a meal than you do not have to worry about the dressing. If you are working out a lot and are having trouble losing weight, than you may be under consuming calories to be effective in losing weight.

No, it just adds calories and fat. There is no such a thing as "healthy" calories. You would be better off adding some olive oil (good kind of fat) and some fresh herbs, it's healthier and more delicious.
A calorie is just a calorie, measures the amount of heat necessary to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 Celsius degree.

It won't take away healthy calories; it'll just add empty calories. If you're worried about empty calories, try a light or nonfat salad dressing instead of the full-fat ones. They're pretty good.

It doesn't take away the good from the salad, but ranch is a high fat food. Unless you are eating a lot of other fats go ahead and enjoy your ranch.

Olive oil adds calories, but it helps cleanse your body of cholesterol. It's very good for you. With a little vinegar or lemon juice and some herbs and spices, you have a very healthy salad dressing.

Depends on the dressing & the amount of dressing..
Quantity & Content
Read your labels, you can still have it but have it in smaller amounts.....
If you are big dressing person then you can use a small amount of dressing and season your salads with herbs and spices to punch it up a bit so the smaller portion of dressing wont be so noticable or missed.

Ranch can add carb and fat calories, but in moderation (not more than 2 tablespoons) its fine. Everyone needs some fat in their diet, otherwise important bodily functions start to suffer. Don't forget to have some dairy in your diet too. If your diet is poor in calcium you will have a hard time losing weight.
