there is no cure, but it can be controlled with drugs and diet, Pamela Anderson and Naomi Judd both have the disease and still maintain normalcy in their lives.

You will always carry the virus but if its an acute case it usually is out of your system (the flare up that is) after approx. 6 months, if chronic you will have it forever. I had Hep B and was truly very very sick, but I had an acute case. I had no medications given to me and usually they do not with acute cases, but with chronic cases you are given the serum, There are several ones you can be given. It is up to the physician. But believe me when you have Hep B you are a sick puppy no matter what and you will be weak, can suffer nausea, diahhrea (I had continuous diarrhea for 1 1/2 years). Best thing to do, unlike I didnt do, is get the Hep B series of vaccinations. I believe now that when babies are born they are even given it. I had the Hep B diagnosed in Oct. 2004, and now I have been diagnosed with NASH, which is Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis, which can lead to death or transplant etc.

Hepatitis B is a serious infectious disease caused by a virus that attacks the liver. The hepatitis B virus (HBV) can cause life-long infection that leads to cirrhosis (scarring) of the liver, liver cancer, or liver failure. There is no cure for hepatitis B, but the infection can be prevented by vaccination. Each year, about 200,000 people are infected with the virus and 5,000 die. there is no cure..

It is not cured. Many of the medications used to treat it just keep the antigen titer in your blood low or nothing. Over time, the virus can kill your liver. You can also spread it to others through blood, semen, and other body fluids.
Pam Anderson has hepatitis C, the number one cause of liver transplants.
