Like the macaws, it depends on the species and whether or not you're adopting from a shelter. The smaller species are often the less expensive. Green Cheek Conures and Maroon Bellied Conures go for $200 - $1000 depending on the mutation (color) and the breeder in question. Peach Fronts and Fiery Shouldered Conures go for about $500-700. Gold caps are closer to $500 - 1000 and Patagonian often go for over $1000. Then there's the very rare Golden Conure which goes for several thousand. Its also severely endangered so if you want one, you need to get a special permit.

I checked everywhere for a sun conure about a year and half ago. I found prices depending on where you get it from 200 dollars USD far away and would have to pay to transport of a couple of hundred dollars. to about 600 bucks at pet stores. I found a breeder local who sold me one for 300 bucks. he was 12 weeks old at the time. He has been a great family member. I live in the north west corner of arkansas and the pet stores now are selling sun's for close to 600 bucks and they are around 2 years old or older. They have all the yellow fethers on the wings. The younger the bird the better.

There are many species of conures. They can range from $45 to several hundred dollars. Spoon fed ones cost more than wild ones. All are noisy! Check the local pet store or breeders in your area to find the best buy.

They cost in my estimate between 200 and 500 and it depends on their age and whether they are wild or hand fed.
