Navy has no Majors or Lt. Colonel. As i recall, the ranks would go from Admiral, Captain, Commander, Lt. Commander, Lieutenant, Lieutenant (JG), Ensign. This Officer ranks. Army Major is the same as Navy Lt. Commander. Lieutenant Colonel is the same as Navy Commander. I am sure I will be corrected if I have missed any. Dale P. has the enlisted rates down quite right.

USNA is absolutely right-on in his/her answer - except for one little thing: There is no WO-1 in the Navy. I don't quite know when they stopped using it.
