As long as the far right continues to use the media (talk radio and fox news) to fuel and justify their prejudices, this problem is only going to get worse.

It is not a crusade against immigrant workers. It is a discussion and debate about ILLEGAL immigration.
Any group that disagrees with the views of minorities is considered a hate group.
In Orlando Florida recently, a city council woman publicly stated that blacks are not capable of being racist because they lack the institutional representation to be racist. By her logic, then hispanics, orientals, indians, can not be racist either. so, when applying her logic to the logic of the Southern Poverty Law center, then all 803 hate groups that they have discovered must be groups made up of white people. What about, MI13, the black panthers etc.
Does the center have documented proof that this hate group The Border Guardians are harassing and stealing money from these undocumented immigrants?
Does the southern Poverty Law center, keep statistics on how many women are raped, how many men are killed, how many children are molested by undocumented immigrants?
Pancha, once again, has the right idea!!!

The United States needs immigration to maintain the vitality of the country including the economy. Such desired immigration doesn’t include undocumented aliens. While all aliens contribute to the economy, undocumented aliens cost more than they generate (several studies document this reality). In addition, it is easy to take advantage undocumented aliens for example by paying them too little. This has nothing to do with racism.
In addition, there has been little (if any) violence against these undocumented aliens. In fact, people of the United States have aided those who get in trouble crossing arid areas.
Several steps must be taken:
First is to seal the border.
Secondly is to establish heavy fines (including jail time) for employers hiring undocumented aliens.
Third is to develop a system that helps employers bring aliens into the United States to work here.
Fourth is to follow original intent and no long provide citizenship to those born here of undocumented aliens.
Every country has the right and responsibility to have secure borders. There are those coming across the border who have stated the desire to acquire lands within the United State and remove them from the Union. By any definition, this is an attack on the integrity of United States Sovereignty.

Your question makes an assumption that YOU can not support. You are assuming that racism and violence are being spawned by the desire to have secure borders. I do not deny that racism and violence exist in this country, or even that the current push to secure the borders won't be used by existing racists to further their agenda. However, you are attempting to further the "Open Borders" agenda with your effort to convince people that anyone who supports secure borders is "spawning" racism and violence. I detest racism. It hurts all races. I do feel that securing the borders is a necessary step in protecting the residents of this country, both legal and illegal. I also see no way to be fair to the legal immigrants to this country, wherever they are from, by letting the illegals have a pass, or a cut in line, or any advantage for having broken the rules that the legal immigrants have followed. This is not racist. This is a desire for our rules and laws to be followed by someone that follows our rules and laws. The term that we use in this country for people who break our laws is CRIMINAL. I think that we grow enough of those here without allowing those CRIMINALS that violated our immigration laws a free pass to stay here. I am not a member of any group that your "Southern Poverty Law Center" will have on their list unless they define "hate groups" as politically active groups that do not share their agenda, in which case the generally conservative groups such as national and state hunting and shooting associations and veterans groups may be on their lists.

Dear Enlightenment,
Hi, my name is Hank. The people I know who are concerned about illegal immigration are not talking about legal immigrants. They are discussing the ramifications illegal immigration is having on America.
You know, you aren't the first to confuse and try to use legal immigration to preface your argument for illegal immigration. There is a major difference between the word legal and illegal. One is the foundation of our country, the other is like a "sick bird." "ILL EGAL." Get it?
If you are going to preface your argument with undocumented (illegal) immigrants, then we are not talking about legal immigration. I know some people don't get that distinction, but the difference is like trying to install a round window in a rectangular frame. It won't work without major modification. And the only people who can change the dimensions of the frame is Congress.
I don't know why you aren't advocating Mexico or Peru or Belize or El Salvador and other South American countries change their economic laws to be more people friendly. That's where the problem is, not here in the United States.
Well, that's not exactly right, laws are being broken here, but it is the Corporatists doing it. The Corporatists want cheap labor so they can suppress the wages of citizens here. Why don't you pose your question to President Fox or the people taking advantage of illegals here in North America?
I listened to the Church make its argument about illegal immigration and was disheartened they were not advocating for change south of our border where the economic refugees are doing the real suffering. I don't know of any illegal immigrants here in America whom are being as mistreated as they are at home. Yet, some people continue to try and blame Americans for the refugees plight.
The economic refugees from south of the border and all of South America, are in dire straits because it is easier to make a thousands-mile long trek across some very hostile terrain, instead of staying home and fighting for their right to get a decent wage for a decent days work. Would you stay in your home country and fight, or would you flee elsewhere? United States people stayed home and fought for our rights.
If you want to talk about abuse, it must start in the home country of the illegal immigrant. Please, in the future, place the basis for your argument where it truly belongs, and don't blame hard working people who really are concerned for the millions of our Southern neighbors plight?

You can't stop the nut jobs out there.
Close the border and legislate a real immigration policy that lets us control who comes here and gives them legal status. That would get this whole mess out of the news, and it would die down.
Please remember that it is mainly other Mexicans who prey on the border crossers. The coyotes who charge hundreds of dollars from poor people. The Latino pimps in LA and other cities who kidnap the young females and put them to "work". The Mexicans in the border cities who charge them outrageous prices for food, water, and blankets. And the large number of Mexican bandits who work the border to rob and kill the crossers. Those are the ones who shoot at our Border Patrol

Oh and here is the first part of the defenition of racism and the link gives a full explination.
Racism refers to various belief systems maintaining that humans can be separated into various groups based on physical attributes and that these groupings determine or influence cultural or individual achievement or the essential value of human beings.

If they were not here illegally they could find justice with the government. If they continue to be here illegally, they will face more injustices from not only their employers, but other people who see an opportunity to commit a crime, knowing that it can never be reported.
Now, if they were a LEGAL immigrant, this kind of injustice would not happen. Pro illegal supporters amaze me that they are inhumane towards these kinds of injustices that illegal immigrants endure by breaking our laws. Life is not fair..

5% of the Utah have had their social security numbers stole and used by Illegal aliens. 75% of all felony warrant rape, murder robbery in Los Angeles are by Illegal aliens. 25 % of the US prison population are illegal aliens. They are costing millions in welfare. They cost the Taxers billions years. They pay no state of federal taxes and some pay minimal in social security taxes using someones number.
Mexican are fascist ever wear the brown uniform the Hitlers Nazis youth wore.
Your lies about the Border Guardians is typical of someone who justifies people who break the law. But only you and people like you believe your lies.
Oh by the way it is the Mexicans who are stealing the money and that is only the tip of the iceberg these illegal crimmials are doing.

The problem is with - and pay attention to the key word here, oh enlightened one - ILLEGAL immigrants/aliens/encroachers, or whatever you want to call them. Just remember that one little word... ILLEGAL! Perhaps the violence is spawned by the illegals, no? 30% of the nations prison population is... what's that? ILLEGAL ALIENS?! Say it ain't so!! Tis true! Maybe you should give some sensitivity training (along with English 101) to your amigo's before you send them North across the Rio Grande, whaddya say, oh enlightened one?

Having a proper border control can hardly be called racism ... and of course, if undocumented immigrants as you call them weren't here, nobody could steal from them ... and are you saying that all the illegals here are innocents who don't steal?
