Well I really don't want to buy him, or rent him, cuz we're already broke for the week exactly 12 hours after hubby got paid *bummer*
But seriously, try 100% child-proofing just one room. Gate all entrances and put nothing in there but toys, toys, toys! Then have a seat in a nice comfy chair, right on the OTHER side of the gate but within reaching distance. Play some soft music and let him have some fun. The worst he can do is toss toys at you, right?
Emily Welsh, take it easy there, tiger! This is obviously a joke post.

Now would be a good time to do that. I mean, they get even worse in the next few years. Typically they level off around 6. So make sure you have it in your contract that the deal will become null and void on his 6th b-day. Of course by then his morals and values would have molded and shaped by someone else and you might have a worse time getting him back in line with your way of thinking. Maybe it would just be best to keep him. After all he'll probably be moving out in a short 16 years. Good luck!

Try checking with your local high school or church. There are a lot of young people who would be more than happy to come over every now and then to help out with a child going through the terrible 2s. It will give you an opportunity to take a breather and the young people an opportunity to hone their child care skills. You don't have to go anywhere.

That depends--I might make a trade for my three year old, if you think yours would spend less time arguing with my older one. Do I really care who took whose cracker? No, I don't.
That's kind of you to want him back. I used to say that my kids were about to be put out in a box that said "Free to good home." And after a couple hours, I was going to cross out "good."
What am I talking about, "used to"?

Try this seriously. Stop what you are doing and give the 2 year old 100% of your attention. Just do a puzzle or read a book or just talk with them with them not at them. tickle and laugh but not just for a minute give them a couple of hours you will be surprised on how much better they behave when they feel loved and appreciated.

I have found that with my 2 year old, I have to pay constant attention to him. He does play by himself, but if left alone too long, he finds something to get into that he shouldn't be into. Playing with him, taking him to the park, let him help with chores or something...give him crayons and paper and sit him in a high chair....there are so many things you could do.
