Grapes and Raisins are very toxic. It causes Acute Renal Failure (kidneys). Also, it causes them to stop eating and develop diarrhea.
Bread Dough (yeast) It expands and also ferments, creating alcohol like enzymes which can poison your pet. Can cause gastric distention, respiratory and vascular compromise, CNS depression and death.
Chocolate. White chocolate is the least toxic, dry cocoa powder, the most. Dog and cats renal function is slower than humans. This means it takes longer to dispel the chocolate from the animal in feces form. Therefore, poisoning the animal.
Moldy Food..lots of bad ugly things can happen here. tremors, seizures, coma, death and many more.
Chocolate chart below. From least toxic to most. Theobromine is the toxin. You can see why anything more than a small piece of white chocolate can kill your dog. Of course, weight factors in, too.

Dark Chocolate is fatal, Milk Chocolate is not but it gives them the runs Dogs are lactose intolerant so any dairy is not really that good.
Onions, Turkey, Artificial Sweetener are also thing to keep clear of a dog. Cooked meat is actually more harmful than raw when it comes to pooches to. Pretty much you are better off not to feed dog to much people food in the long run it all has damaging effect if it is over done.

Great Question ,
Everyones answer has some great points but the information is very incomplete if you want a full list of Dangerous "People Food" you dont feed your pets go to www.treshanley.com/cic/dangerousfoods.html
everyone should see this list it completely blew me away for example nutmeg , causes seizures and death apples ,cherries, peaches and similar fruit if a dog eats the seeds and they get lodged in the dogs intestine they will be dead within 24 hrs because these seeds contain cyanide , you see for yourself go to that website and print that list you will be amazed.

People Food THAT IS NOT good for your pet:
*Rhubarb
*Dairy (cheese, milk, ice cream, etc)
*Nuts
*Beets
*Spinach-These first five can cause bladder/kidney stones.
*Onions
*Chocolate-These latter two can kill your pet

Toxic Foods
Chocolate
staggering, laboured breathing, vomiting, diarhea, abdominal pain, tremours, fever, heart rate increase, arrythmia, seizures, coma, death

Coffee / Cocoa
staggering, laboured breathing, vomiting, diarhea, abdominal pain, tremours, fever, heart rate increase, arrythmia, seizures, coma, death

Onions
Hemolytic Anemia, laboured breathing, liver damage, vomiting, diarhea, discoloured urine

Mushrooms
abdominal pain, drooling, liver damage, kidney damage, vomiting diarhea, convulsions, coma, death

Grapes / Raisinsvomiting, diarhea, abdominal pain, lethargy

-----------------------

*People food are actually healthier for dogs as in studies show, some dogs' wellness report (like a physical for humans) comes out with flying colours.

As well, people food is better than your typical pet food ie. IAMS, Pedigree...These food found at the supermarket contain ingredients that are unfit for human to eat, but will be produced for dogs. Would you want your dog to be eating something that you know you would not eat yourself? Things like unwanted parts of the chicken...intestines, cartilage etc...Even if the ingredients read "real grade chicken, or real grade beef," it's bogus...It's not real 100% chicken or meat. Pretty much, junk food and really unhealthy stuff. And sadly, if unaware, you dog may have develop an allergic reaction to these questionable ingredients in dog food.

Pet food companies are highly respected in their brands we know of today, but they are guilty in making things by the bulk & not caring about what really goes into the product. Of course, if you purchase your dog food at a health pet store, they will provide you with organic food, and added vitamins, nutrients that are good for your four-legged friend.

To answer your question, human food is by far, better than dog food. Healthy coats, good weight, nice teeth.

Small dogs can not eat anything that is fried.
the grease is hard on the digestive system, they will vomit and act listless.
You need to feed dogs dog food it has what they need and not what they don't.
Look and see how much filler the product has, the less filler the less poop you will have to deal with.

All human food is bad for dogs because it makes them store extra, unwanted fat and gives them what they shouldn't be getting as far as nutrients, but I can't remember for sure what's REALLY bad for them besides chocolate. I'm sure they can eat most fruits and some veggies, though they probably won't care for them. You can contact your vet or Google it to find out, it's really not that hard just type in "dog-killing foods" or something along those lines.

Have a nice day!

Chocolate and alcohol can kill dogs. Dogs can eat cooked fish. But raw makes them sick. Some dogs love ice cream cones!
