I can't get to sleep until around 1 or 2 A.M., and I wake up around 12 or 1 P.M. I'm tired throughout the day, and have little energy. My mom says it's because I don't have a schedule, but I do. It's usually 2 A.M. to 1 P.M. My sister said it's because I oversleep, but shouldn't my body wake up if it's had enough sleep? If I set an alarm clock I end up waking up halfway, turning it off, and going back to sleep. Sometimes I'll wake up at times that differ from the schedule, such as 6:30 A.M. or 10 A.M. I have a sort of mental fog.

It's possible for me to be diabetic, my grandfather was and I'm also overweight, which is a risk factor. I've never gone into shock or anything though.

You don't do enough to burn all the energy you've stored up from sleeping. Try exercising in the day or dancing in the evening, you'll tire yourself out. Then you'll go to bed easier, and wake up refreshed.

PS it's not that you have too little energy, it's that your not use to using the amount you have.

It sounds like you need to get your body on a strict schedule. If I were you, I would go to walgreens, and buy some "sleep aid" its a totally safe pill that is NON HABIT FORMING (meaning you can't get addicted) and take them when you want to be asleep, and you will sleep better, will not wake up and feel better when you DO wake up. Do this for about a few days straight and see if you can get your body use to that schedule.

I agree with Chris, you need more exercise and if your drinking any pop with sugar or caffeine in it. Don't drink any after 8pm and try going to sleep around 10pm. Yes for most people 6 to 8hrs sleep is enough. So instead of turning your alarm off, get up and get going, don't turn your alarm off. Another thing to ask your mom if it is possible for you to be a diabetic?

I'm like that now that I'm not in school. I can't fall asleep until around 3am, then I can't wake up until about 11am. That should be enough sleep.
