Because he too wished to taste the fruits of knowledge as much as she did. It is inherent in us to seek knowledge!

There's nothing in The Bible that states that Adam & Eve ate an apple. The Bible states that Adam & Eve ate of the forbidden fruit it doesn't say it was an apple.

You need a man and a woman to create children. The first commandment given to Adam and Eve were to "be fruitful and multiply and fill the Earth". Adam knew that Eve would be cast out for eating the fruit. He had to decide if he would join Eve and keep the first commandment or not eat the fruit and remain in the Garden by himself and those prevent the birth of the human race.

She didn't convince him, it says "She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it."
I have thought about this, and odds are the serpent probably tempted Adam before Eve, it simply is not recorded. Why did he not eat, most likely because he wasn't willing to take the risk of death for knowledge (such a coward) but Eve was. When Adam saw Eve eat it and he saw she didn't die he probably thought, "Well she's okay, so I guess that means it's okay to eat" and gladly consumed it.
Both of them were deceived by the serpent, they were too ignorant to understand what God meant when he siad, "you will surely die", how could they, they had never seen someone die nor did they have any understanding that it could be something that didn't happen immediately. Obviously they figured, death was something that would strike them down the moment they ate, it didn't so they figured everything was okay.
God didn't say when they would die if they ate, he just said they would surely die. Adam, made the worse sin I think because of this, because he allowed Eve to be the victim first, when the more chivalrous thing to do would have been for him to eat first.

First of all, it wasn't an apple, read your Bible. But that is neither here nor there.
God told Adam to eat of EVERY tree except one as a test of Adam's devotion to God above himself. Then Adam told Eve what he had heard from God. Satan temped Eve and Scripture says,
"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." Genesis 3:6
So Adam and Eve sinned equally.
They put themselves above God.
That was just the FIRST sin.
We've each added to the list and need forgiveness just as bad as Adam and Eve did.

Adam was already there when she ate it he could have stopped her but were all human Genesis 3:6 says "So when the woman ( Eve ) saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband WITH HER, and ate." We also don't know if it was an apple it said fruit.

Ge 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
The bible doesn't say that she had to convince him of anything. They were fooled at the same time by the same devil. Notice that the verse says that "she gave unto her husband with her". He was not in Europe somewhere. They were listening to the same lie at the same time.

Eve may have told Adam, "if you do not eat of this fruit, which is delicious, I'm going to have a headache tonight."
