I witnessed how my favorite smoothie place makes them. Take the fruit juices that you like and add them to different sherbet or frozen yougart flavors that you like. Next, add frozen fruit that you like and everything is ready for blending. You get a little sugar from the yogurt or sherbet (not too much though) and you get healthy natural sugars from the fruits that process through your body naturally. You can always add supplements to your smoothie, but you don't have to. That is what makes a good smoothie. I have at least four smoothies a week and they keep me energized for work.

We have a vitamix which is REAL good for smoothies but any blender will work. Take at least 3 fruits of any kind and place them in your blender. add an 8-ounce yogurt cup into your blender plus about 7 peices of ice. turn your blender on for about 1-2 minutes and wala!!!! there is your healthy tasting smoothie! (we have one about once a week!)

A smoothie doesn't necessarily have to be healthful, because you can add whole milk or yogurt that is fattening. Usually, though, it's best to add a bit of sugar to your fruit smoothies though, because they won't be very sweet when blended.

For me, a really GOOD smoothie has to include ... yogourt, a banana along with any other fruit you like(I usually use frozen fruit or berries - then you don't have to add ice) and a bit of milk or soy milk and even a tsp of flax seeds ... whiz it up and it's deeee-licious!
