Skiing (snow or water) and swimming are the top 2 total body workout. You use all muscle groups and not get so fatigue because coolness of the water and snow. Your body also can burn a lot of calories. They are fun and excellent cardio workout!

I would say swimming. It's low-impact too, so it's good for your joints.
