Nuts are a good fat source. Your body needs some fat for proper development and function. Try a nutrition search or USDA web site for proper percentage mix. Tho fat intake in the USA is easy to find and is usually a problem of too much. Fast food and processed foods are lousy sources of the wrong types of fat.

The fat comes from all the oil in it.
You should have less than 20% of your calories come from good polyunsatuarated fats (saturated fats are bad, cholesterol causing fats).
Total amount of fats for the day = (total # of calories x 0.20)/9
(you divide by 9 because each gram of fat has 9 calories)

Oil. Peanuts, Cashews, and other nuts are a relatively rich source of natural fatty-adics, which the body treats as fats.

Oil naturally occuring within the nut.......thats why we have peanut oil, walnut oil, almond oil, etc.........

Less than ten percent of your calories should come from fats each day, and they should be unsaturated (not animal) fat. fat has 9 calories per gram, so do the math: based on a 2000 calorie diet, thats about 20g per day.

i love cashews too but i know they are the most fattening nuts i think there is.. so i just walk on by when i see them... and i really do like them a lot..i do not think you can eat very many of them until you have had more than your share of fat for the day...
