This is what my dogs trainer told me to do.

Get your dog in a hallway with all the doors closed so that you both are boxed into the hallway. Then have her down at the other end of the hallway and toss the ball to her. Then call to her to come to you. Get the ball out of her mouth and praise her. Now do it again. She'll learn. A dog more than anything wants to make her owner happy. So by praising her she'll figure out quickly that if she gives you the ball, she's pleasing you.
Good luck.

well to start u can have her get the ball then give her something instead of the ball when she comes back. Then eventually she will just drop it and give her something to let her know that is what she is to do with the ball. It may take some time but in the l0ng run it will be Worth it.

Your pooch is not stupid. He knows that running after a thrown ball and retrieving it is a lot of work. "If you want the ball, come and get it from me, if you want it that bad."
Smart dog you have there!

Throw the ball, and if she doesn't bring it back to you, smack her over the head. Then throw the ball again...

Either she will wise up, or she'll die. Then you can buy a new dog and try again until it works.
