Fasting is a showing God that you have faith that he will sustain you and that you are willing to sacrifice for him.

You can't go longer than 3 days without drinking anything and you can't go longer than 7 days...

JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS ACCOMPLISHED 40 DAYS...this was to prove that only he could..DON'T try to go 40..you will Die before you ever get to that..that said...many religions teach that fasting serves various purposes...1) it is a type of self mastery in which you sacrifice eating for those who have nothing to eat. 2) IF YOU GO WITHOUT EATING...you must pray and declare your purpose to God first so that he may bless you or the person or cause for which you are fasting..or you are just starving yourself..you also need to donate the money you would have used to feed yourself to those who have not.
Fast and Prayer is very important and will bless you in your life but it is to be done correctly...or again you are just starving yourself...

A body can go for about 40 days without food before you die. However, before that time, you will have some serious damage to your body.

Most people on fasts drink juices or broths along with a multivitamin. If you're going for more than a couple of days, I recommend talking to your doctor first.

There's limits to fasting. You don't have to live without food. You only go a limited amount of time to fasting. God's not going to make people do harm to themselves.

Our bodies where designed to endure times of little or no food. The body can extract some of what it needs from fat, and water for up to 40 days.

The Bible says when you fast, that you are not to tell others, because then you will be like the Pharisees in the Bible, and your fasting will be in vain because you seek the praise of men as they did.

Yes, but only of a very short amount of time. You might want to really check into building your body up before you try that.
