Family reunion is an event where extended family members scattered throughout far away places come together and celebrate in one place.

If you ask about where it originated from, no one really knows since family reunions have been around just as long as humans have.

I dont know for sure...probably a periodic gathering of family members that you dont like, so you can remember why you dont like them until the next reunion. :)
