Atheists often say they have no faith, yet they put all of their faith in science, which has been later proven wrong at times. In addition, aren't they just putting their faith in what somebody else says. Have they seen the evidence for themselves? Again, some of this "evidence" has even later proven to be wrong.
What is especially puzzling is that many discoveries in science also backs up the possibility of creation. I'm not suggesting that they have to become believers, but you'd think they would stop accusing us of being closed minded when their minds are already made up too.

I'm not an atheists or a christian, but the same way people have found god, you can also read that there is no God, faith that there is no god is the same faith that there is a god, so the question now is; is it faith that we are more than just animals, could it be true that neither exist "God no God" that what we see with our own eyes is true or is it and what we feel inside our minds is made up with what ever we want to fill it with, because truth can vary from each of us and some of us would rather not look beyond what we were brought up with
So actualy to some people nothing can be proving no matter what

people are entitled to their own opinions. Also the bible says things that are impossible. For example, the bible says the earth is static meaning that earth does not change. The bible also does not believe in evolution even though it has occurred and their is scientific proof of this. These maybe some of the reasons why people don't believe in god. But your right God is not based on proof but Faith. But you should also learn to except that not everyone believes in the same thing. In my opinion A lot of people that go to church are Hypocrites they act all prim and proper and there not. They act a fool all through the week and then try to act holy on Sunday. Furthermore people that go to church tend to be very egotistical. And of course an athiest have faith.

Atheists have no proof that there is or isn't a god. There are a lot of things in the Bible that require faith in the Bible/Christian dogma to believe in, therefore science has undone much of the Bible's credibility (the earth is not the center of the universe, for example). It is easier to defend the agnostic stance intellectually than the atheist's or Christian's (or anyone who holds religious/spiritual beliefs) because no one can prove the existence or non-existence of god.
To answer your last questions; of course an atheist can have faith in something and not have faith in god. I myself am an atheist and I have faith in many things including myself, other people, humanity, justice, love, friendship, etc. Just because we can't see or prove something doesn't mean we can't feel it. I feel my faith in some things, but not in a god. It is foolish to ask someone to feel something they can't, including faith in a god or creator. Just be satisfied with your own faith, anyone else's is none of your business.

Faith is belief in things not seen. I don't think an atheist can have faith. They could, but they choose not to. I think everything was created by God who is a higher power. The mind we have on earth is finite. We cannot totally understand God or even the mind of God. An atheist is someone who just chooses not to believe, although I really don't think someone can explain everything scientifically.

"What proof do atheists have that there is no God?"
Many theists say that they have free will and an all knowing god. The two CANNOT both be true. It's like saying that somewhere in the universe there is a perfect circle with corners, which is obviously impossible. No one has to search the entire universe to know that there isn't a circle with corners, just like no one has to search the universe to know there isn't an omniscient god which also allows beings to have free will.
"Isn't it more based on faith?"
No. Do you have faith that Santa Clause doesn't exist, or do you know that Santa Clause doesn't exist? Do you have faith that Superman doesn't exist, or do you know for a fact that he doesn't? Atheists know that god doesn't exist just like they know that unicorns don't exist.
"Can atheists have faith?"
Definitely, just not in god.

What absolute proof do you have that God exists? God is something that cannot be proved or disproved. There is nothing in this world that would scientificly verify God's existance and you'll have to accept that. The same way you cannot prove that he's not there because you'd have to know everything and no human does.

Hey DWG, at least he didn't ask the Tootsie Roll Pop question for the gazillionth time this week!
I've got a novel solution for this atheist vs. religious debate: How about if everyone just followed their own path & stopped worrying about what everyone else believes (or doesn't believe)?
Atheists could continue to be atheists & Christians could continue to be Christians - it would resolve a lot of conflict & maybe end a few wars.

Both sides have been arguing about this for centuries and will argue for the rest of eternity.
There is no evidence that God exists and if he/she/it does, then he/she/it has a twisted sense of humor. There is no evidence that proves that God does not exist. Who knows? Believe in what you have to as long as you don't hurt anyone else with your actions, deeds or words.

Process of elimination?
There is no proof that God exists (books written by men, chosen by men, with no external sources to back it up do not count).
Therefore, no proof that God exists... and this absence of proof alludes to speculating that no higher power exists? One can either be an agnostic or an atheist. Either way, you live your life for the present, without worrying about it.
