Well yes Mam! Most Texans are of Hispanic origins. The last report I recall stated that Hispanics are the majority in Texas now. So it is no wonder all our public documents are duplicates in Spanish and English. Many Texicans ( Hispanics living in what is now Texas) were a part of the fight for freedom from Mexico. They also welcomed the immigrants from the east when they came to Texas prior to the fight for freedom from Mexico. They gave them land and cattle to start the settlers out with a chance to make it. These are the same Hispanics that after the war ended were written out of Texas history by the so called historians. Their lands were taken away from them and their rights ignored by the new Texas settlers. On the lighter side,we in Texas are known for our Small excursions from the absolute truth but we do have some grand tales to tell those who will listen. The stories almost always bring smiles to Y'all. Texas is known as The Friendly State,so please come to visit when you can.

Well considering that Texas was a part of Mexico for so long, they have every right to claim some mexican culture. California....Arizona....they all have some claim to it, because it wasn't part of america until the mex am. war when it was taken in the peace treaty. They landscape those areas "spanish style" because the terrain is the same. Certain plants grow in certain areas. Duh.
