I beg to differ -
Religons are largely focused on an afterlife, and working towards an unsure future.
But for one who doesn't believe in God (and still has their own ethics by which to govern themselves) they see the fruits of their actions immediately - learning to live in the moment, appreciate the now, treat people well so you have positive consequences now.
I don't believe God, but I feel quite fulfilled - I have better relationships with people because I think about how things are now, in this moment - not worrying about an afterlife. I feel content because I can experience life now, not for an unknowable afterlife.
For me, it actually makes my life more meaningful, because I see the fruits of activity rather immediately.

Every human is different, some people are able to function without having to answer to a higher power. It depends on one's upbringing and the culture they were raised in, in order for them to believe life is meaningless without God.

I don't think so. I don't think Atheist find there life meaningless. I'm an agnostic and my life doesn't feel meaningless. There's loads of things I wanna do in my life, places want to visit, things to learn, things to experience etc.

If to an atheist, the meaning of life is to just be fulfilled, I can still belive in God and in the end EVEN if we are wrong, by atheistic terms Im STILL fulfilled. Once we realize (including all religions) what ment when He said "Treat you neighbor as yourself" life becomes more meaningful, but if we really are just a collocation of atoms then we might as well just wipe them out because they were going to be wiped out anyway............(i mean that last part figuretivly)

In as much as we exist without purpose, I would agree.
However we can make our own purpose.
