find someplace "neutral" and private such as... take him for a drive and go for a walk in the park, on the beach, a hike in the forest.... somewhere peaceful you can talk without having to just stare at eachother (like at the dinner table).

this will be hard for him so somewhere with some solitude where can "take it all in" in peace and privacy while being physically active like walking will help him through the moment.

also if he gets angry, yells, walks away to cool off, cries, hugs you, tells he loves you.... whatever... he can do it at his own pace.

tell him directly, don't beat around the bush... men relate to directness and franknes... then let him take it from there... even if he doesn't say anything at first... let him take it in and go from there.

he's your dad, he loves you
good luck

Go straight up to him and tell him "I'm Gay. If you have a problem with that It's your problem not mine." Most fathers are nuts about their daughters and will accept just about anything about them, so no worries

Assuming you are a female, I'm sure your father will take it better than he did his brother's news. Men are usually more touchy about other men being homosexual than they are women (most guys applaud lesbianism!). Explain to him that you don't want to go down the same road that he went with his brother, but you owe it to him to tell him the truth.

this is tough, but i'd say somethin like "thats who i am, and im sorry if you cant accept that." just be yourself and say how you really feel.
