I don't think so. Playing video games is more or less just spacing out into something that's being played on a screen you're focusing on something that doesn't exist. Where as meditation is where you are trying to get yourself calm and to clear your mind totally.

Soaking yourself in anything that makes you forget other things is a meditation, may it work or video game.

When I got so good at Galaga that I could play for hours on one quarter it kind of was.

I think it's more like ZOONEN,or spacen out.To be good at it you realy have to put all your brain into it.
