woman in Texas who drowned her five kids and said she did it b/c her kids were going to turn out like her and she didnt want them to be evil like her so she killed them b/c she wanted to be punished, Andrea Yates? All of her kids had biblical names, she pleaded innocent by reason of insanity.... What do you think about that story and about her, if you remember? There are others that followed her because of similar reasons...

I remember the story. Not so much the details of it.

She was possessed. I'm sure if insanity is a reason, she qualified. There will be scores of this going on in the next couple of years, like never before. That was only 1 story you heard on National News. OK?

Think of the stories you never hear about. I was on the Sheriffs Dept 9 years. In 1986, we got a call about a boy had been beat and killed at school. In a town of 6,000 people. Never had any problem at all in that town. A cult group of Devil worshipers, Took a ballbat and beat the boy to death, because he was in a "special Ed", class. 5 6th graders went to a reformatory until age 18, then will go to the Penitentiary, for life.
none of these kids, parents had a clue what was going on.

sad huh?

Mothers killing thier own children was un-heard of in America years ago. She was one of the first. Yeah, she was a loony with an over-worked, underpaid husband and we can pick apart the details of her case to no end, but the trend of mothers killing thier own children is a scary one. I think that so much is demanded of us economically these days that it is much easier to go off the deep end...
The list of common items that you want and need in a home has grown 10x in the last two or three decades. So has rent and the cost of almost everything...plus there are waaay more taxes. Its only a matter of time that more and more people lose it and go nuts. No one ever went into thier job and started killing people before that postal worker in the eighties. Now it happens every week. I know that what she did was stupid and evil, but I can't help but feel sorry for her.

Yes ....as a matter of fact I read a book dedicated to the subject of Andrea Yates. She suffered from a mental Illness commonly known as Post Pardum Psychosis. In addition to her mental problems she was also brainwashed by an evangelic preacher and his wife that she had known personally. Her psychiatrist in the hospital she was in before the murder took place said "She was the sickest person I've ever seen."...through a hole in her insurance she couldn't be covered and she had to be released. Shortly after she was left alone with her kids for about one hour..in the hour she murdered them. Some of the responsibility should be placed on her husband and the insurance company (who so graciously called her hubby after the murders and THEN offered their help).......Sickening

I am from the hood and I believe in old school way. A kid if they are completely (ok up to par) in the head will not be a bad kid with a lot of advice, love, understand and *** whoop-ins.

This women was sick. Think about it. She killed them all individually. I mean she went and got one after another and did them in. She had many problems people were not noticing.

Now do I think she should get off? Hell no not when you commit murder like that. Each one individually. I mean at the third one she had to be thinking "what am I doing" She has to be accountable for some of her actions.

Andrea Yates was from South Carolina.
I don't know about her mental problems, because I've never personally met her. but she defintely had no business killing her children.
and really, not to sound callous, but there are crazy people out there who do stuff like that every day.
consider the West Memphis Three, the Wiccan boys who murdered people for the fun of it.

She is a sick person. She is currently on trial again because the first verdict was thrown out. She was from Texas, not South Carolina.

I remember that, it was sick. And how could the woman plead innocent after knowingly killing FIVE of her children?

I think regardless of whether or not she was insane in the way that she claimed she had to be mentally ill on some level.

I remember that storey. That lady needs help. I hate it when people blame anybody or anything for their wrong doing. People need to take responsibility for their actions. Although maybe she really is really crazy and doesn't think straight.
