So it seems.
Ugly isn't it.
It makes us appreciate why God is against drunkeness.
You did read the context, didn't you?

Historically and Biblically, you will find that Lot was drunk at the time both his daughters became pregnant by him. That was due to drinking the wine that fermented without his knowledge. Biblically, if you read the entire story, you will find that God still called the situation sinful and was displeased with Lot and his daughters. Just because Lot was a follower of God does in no way mean that he was not human; he was still subject to failures and mistakes the same as you and I.
If you read the Bible and think about it, we are all inbred. We all came from one man and woman. God's intent was for mankind to all remain the original race. It was after Noah and his family got back off the ark that people began once again to spread out over the earth (at the time) and eventually developed different races, languages, religions, ETC. It was also around this time mankind began heavily fighting among themselves over these things and we have been doing it every since.

These silly girls thought the world had just ended. They thought they would have to start the worlds population over again. It show the influence that city had upon them. There is many things to learn from those few passages.
PS sometimes stories are included to show us what NOT to do. To learn by example.

Personally I'm not "for" any kind of faith that involves the attempted homicide of- or having sex with your offspring. That's just PERVERSE. What's more perverse, people cling to a book that justifies these behaviours because they are "scripture". What's worse than all that - all the people who follow the teachings of this book scrambling to justify it's mentioning in their precious "good book". Yeah, it's good if you're into fornicating with your children, or attempt to murder them because you hear voices.
You're better of worshipping a Clive Barker novel!

Yep, but don't forget they plotted to do so. It is not like he planned on getting his daughters pregnant himself. They got him drunk and had their way with him. Not the other way around.
