If you read the news, you would know they no longer view it as mental disorder.

Most of the lesbians/gays I know hate the government anyway and would rather die than join the military You can't say both that it is not a choice and not a mental disorder. That simply doesn't make sense. The government is probably not working on a 'cure' for homosexuality because they realize it's a lost cause. Homosexuality does not have any physical grounding. Only ailments with mesurable physical results (like hormonal changes or chemical imbalances) can be treated or cured.

No it does not change my views on homosexuality... I have never seen it as a choice or a disease. It is just the way some people are. However, it does make me think even less of the govt/military for sanctioning such an archaic view. If the DSM-IV thought to have it removed from what it considers to be mental illnesses I don't see why the government has the audacity to treat homosexuality as a disease.

Actually, the Pentegon just "de-disordered" it:
Homosexuality No Longer Considered 'Mental Disorder' by Pentagon
(CNSNews.com) - Homosexuality is not a mental disorder, Pentagon officials said Wednesday, reversing a classification made in a 1996 Pentagon document that lists homosexuality among a list of "certain mental disorders."

Hey, U may call me a homophobe or whatever. But in this case I happen to totally agree with the Pentagon. I know some people say they're born to be homosexual. And in that case it's a birth defect. No way your supposed to stick your d**k in some dudes
boody hole and like it. Or get one stuck up your butt and like it.
It is supremely unnatural. As men we are not built to be plugging other men. That's why there are women with that beautiful thing called a coochie. Try it sometime. Ask, beg, or pay for some.
The experience will do you a world of good. Believe it.

The Pentagon said Wednesday 6/28/06, that it no longer regards homosexuality as a mental disorder, though it still sticks to the policy of not recruiting people who are openly being gay.

Without Christ everyone has a disease it is called sin. Jesus Christ is the only one that could set people free from this. Don't get me wrong, I am not advocating homosexual behaviour but the government can call it a mental disorder but my Bible calls it an sin. People need to see that just like any lost person or backslidden person homosexual people need Jesus Christ in order to be free.

USED TO BE LISTED AS A MENTAL DISORDER.
No longer so.....it is now politically incorrect to think of gays as anything but The Chosen People.
At the same time the US government considered it a mental disorder it was listed in all shrink books and med. books as a mental illness.
How thinkg change with lobbying and $$$ clout!

Sure, I guess I agree with that description of homosexuality.
There's no question whether or not it's a disorder. But it's a harmless disorder, and if there's a cure, it should be optional.
The gays and lesbians may be happy with it, or not.

Why do you care? Do you feel discriminated against because you like the male anatomy. If so go hang out in Europe they enjoy that there. They still believe in having very few moral standards and values. In fact they reject most values that hold the sanctity of marriage between male and female.

Do you have a link/evidence of that? I know in the 70's or earlier it was believed to be a mental disorder. It's pretty much considered a decision or a inborn trait now.
