somebody said, what exactly is the question...... ok. Why people adore, pray, worship, make promises, have faith: in statutes, amulates, pictures, or even Mary (jesus mom) if the bible states on Exo. 20:4 not to adore any other things, but only GOD, cuz he deserve exclusive worshiping. and even Jesus said so on Luke 4:5 that only God,(he's Father) can receive holy worship. *not exactly* something like this.

Psalms 115:4-8 " There idols, in silver and gold, products of human skill, have mouths but never speak, eyes but never see, ears but never hear, noses but never smell, hands but never touch, feet but never walk, and not a sound from their throats. Their makers will end up like them and so will anyone who relies on them.
People believe what they are told to and don't take the time to question things that aren't right. they see someone as important as the Pope do it and figure its alright. remember the bible says that Satan is here on the earth living with us ( Rev.12:12) Don't kid yourselves he has misled many religious groups that are now following him.
keep searching and you will find the true religion.

Catholics do not worship statues, saints or Mary. They do not pray to statues, saints or Mary. They do ask saints and Mary to pray for them.
When I explain this to Protestants, they say "We don't need to ask anyone to pray to us, we pray directly to God." Well -- Catholics also pray directly to God.
I then ask these Protestants if they have ever asked a friend, a mother or a grandmother to pray for them. Every one answered 'yes." So -- Protestants are no different -- they also ask others to pray for them. They then point out that these people are living and the Saints and Mary are not. But they do admit that people can go to heaven after death & that they are with Jesus. So the only real difference here is that Protestants don't think that those in heaven can hear their requests.
As for the statues -- honoring the saints with statues is no different than honoring presidents and war heroes with statues. No one is worshiping them.
You should really take the time to learn about things before you criticize them.

The Catholic church supposedly uses tradition and the Bible to rule over disputes. Tradition trumps when there is a disagreement between the two. Tradition is of men, and sadly that is how they wound up in so much error. Unfortunately for them, they can not change it because it would require them to admit that several popes have made errors. Since popes are infallible that would be blasphemy. They have a serious problem for which they have no solution other than to dethrone the pope. When do you think that will happen?

Everyone of you poeple ask the same thing. catholic's answer your direct question, and they're right. You simply didn't ask it in the right form. They sidestep it.
They don't worship Idols. They don't pray too Idols. They don't pray too statutes.
They pray THROUGH them. not TOO them.
They don't ask the preist for forgiveness.
They don't confess too the preist.
They do all of this THROUGH the preist.
JESUS CHRIST is The HIGH Priest. end of story.
Catholics EYE'S..are FIXED on Idols and statutes. NOT CHRIST. If they tell you no. they are lying to you.
catholics are Old Testament teachings. Thats why the church had the first split. The New Testament church started and catholics never changed. They still have Old Testament teachings, because they are OLD Testament. They never gave up the Idols, and Statutes.
Hope this helps.

The observe Trinity isn't interior the Bible. that's merely a posh call meaning 3 as in 3 aspects. in case you doubt the Trinity, you ought to study Matthew 28:19, AND Matthew 3:sixteen&17, and a couple of Corinthians 13:14 AND John 14:sixteen. The Holy Spirit is God, study Acts 5:9. i think of that we ought to consistently worship God, shouldn't we? in case you nonetheless have any doubt to the Trinity, study a million Corinthians 12:4-6. there are this way of super kind of references to record, those are in user-friendly terms the main obtrusive.

Every one wants a god or something that they can worship. If they heard not to worship any other god and they are still are, they chose to disobey. But everyone wants something tangible, something they can see, and that is were faith comes in. And in some parts of the world they haven't even heard the gospel, so they don't know better. And Satin has a part in this too! he wants every one to believe that God isn't god, and to believe in anything else except the real god.

If you're referring to the crucifix with the figure of Christ on it, and all the statues of Mary, I know what you mean. That's just the catholic faith though. Protestants and baptists only have a simple cross, with no "idol" on it. You don't pray to the cross anyway, for me wearing a cross is a daily reminder that He died for my sins, I don't pray to it or worship it. I pray only to God.

We do not pray to the crucifix or to the images of Christ and of the saints, but to the persons of whom they remind us Contrary to popular misunderstanding, we Catholics do not worship statues! Rather, we use them to remind us of our beloved family in heaven, even as you might look at a photo of a relative when he or she is far away. We know the Ten Commandments and would never address our prayers to a plaster statue, since the statue itself can do nothing.

Like the Israelites of old, most people want to do, what they want to do.
So they say an idol is not an idol, just an aid in worship.
You got your head on right.
Most people fool themselves

The interpretation of "idol" from the word of God would make things clearer:
pecel, peh'-sel; from Hebrew 6458 (pacal); an idol :- carved (graven) image.
likeness:
temuwnah, tem-oo-naw'; or temunah, tem-oo-naw'; from Hebrew 4327 (miyn); something portioned (i.e. fashioned) out, as a shape, i.e. (indefiniite) phantom, or (specific) embodiment, or (figurative) manifestation (of favor) :- image, likeness, similitude.
This would be the debate.
