For the most part, it should not.
But I can tell you from personal experience that you will likely feel you are missing something in life, even if you can't figure out what it is, and that will likely be some sort of spiritual connection, in whatever form you choose.

The only people this kind of thing matters to are people looking to validate their own beliefs. Sad, but true.
And I'm not the least bit surprised the question came from a 12-year old. I have two children, both much smarter than I am :)

It is important that we hold high values. It is actually our duty. However, the reason why works alone are not good enough is that first of all they are expected of us. Second, because you have to believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and that he alone can save you. Good works and good deeds are desired but Salvation is what matters. There is no work that you can do to save yourself. Only God can. This simple fact is what separates Christianity into not being a religion at all. There is nothing you can do to save yourself except believe in Jesus. Thanks that was a very good question.

It doesn't matter in the bigger picture. It matters to the individual becouse its up to them to chose which religion can give them the help and support to be good. We may ligt different fores but the smoke all goes up the same chimney.

my mother always said Christianity begins at home ,you should take care of your mum and dad first then your family and friends as well as your neighbor's ,treat them as you would like to be treated and you will be on the road to a good christian .never do to others what you would not wish upon yourself .its easy to go to church on Sunday in your best clothes to say prayers sing hymns and shout hallelujah but what about the rest of the time .you see standing in a church does not make you a christian because on that principal standing in a hospital would make you a doctor , you have to practice and believe .

I truly believe that if I would have been born in a Muslim country, I would be a Muslim today, and God would have no problem with that. (God would be happy!)
Same as if I were a Catholic, Baptist, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu.
All those religions make you a more compassionate, peaceful person if practiced in the right way.
Thanks for your question.

Your religion, which is man made to begin with, has nothing to do with much of anything.
Your FAITH in God and Jesus Christ makes all the difference.

I agree.
The real fruits of human interaction are seen in this *active* life, not in an unknowable afterlife.
