How convenient. "You shall know I exist by those who ask whether I exist."

Then again, your question is generalizing and is thus pointless.

Although not an atheist and not protestant and not American I must tell you that the only people I saw trying to convince masses(preferably through TV) that a miraculous sign showed up are some probably uneducated ultra religious people or some monks desiring to increase..."traffic" to their monastery( to collect some €€€) etc

Unbelief!! They are like the apostle Thomas who has to see to believe. Jesus said, "blessed are those that believe without seeing."

"Jesus had been talking with the Pharisees and the Sadducee's. They came to Jesus in order to tempt Him, and they asked Jesus for a sign. Jesus told them that a wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign and no sign would be given to it. Jesus probably said this because without faith it is impossible to please God. True faith is not based upon a sign that is seen, it is based upon the promises of God. Jesus told Thomas that blessed are those that believe without seeing."

You understand that quoting the Bible is like quoting a line from any book you pick up in a library, with no more, no less value?

*yawn*

Why don't I use another book to use as my religion, just because that books says so? Really, I might as well live by an Ann Landers Ettiquette book - there's no difference to someone who views religion with total relativity.

I'm an athiest. I have absolutely no desire to see a miraculous sign from God, mainly because, as an athiest, I dont believe in God.

You're confused. Atheists don't believe in god. So why would we want to see a miraculous sign from him?

Because they like a good show like everyone else, but with movie tickets at $9 a pop and popcorn and a soda costing another $10+, it's too bloody expensive to go out?

An atheist would NEVER want to see a miraculous sign, because it would prove their entire existence to be inconsequential, petty and insignificant.

In ignorance, they can be as self-aggrandizing as they wish.

They dont. Athiests do not believe in God.

Agnostics are the ones who believe that the existance of a higher power cannot be proven, nor can the absence of a higher power.

Please do your homework if you are going to ask questions like this.

Because Moses was given the power to show he was from God, God sent angels to people to speak with them throughout the bible, Jesus was sent to show the power of God and it was written that with the faith of a mustard seed one can move mountains so if all of these people throughout the bible were shown God's presence why can't we!?!

In the bible there was a man who asked God to show himself to him so he put animal skin out in the grass and asked for him to not have dew on the skin but have dew on the grass.... and it happened then he asked for there to be dew on the skin but not on the grass and it happened. Now that story may not be exactly correct but that is the jist of it. Now when I asked for God to show himself to me, to let me know that he really was there, multiple times, it never happened. So why not now, why not anymore. If he wants us all in heaven why can't he help us believe!? He helped them, the people in the bible, so why not us! That is why we ask. It doesn't have to be a miracle. Just proof.

Because they don't believe it anyway and they are just trying to make you look bad, and the figure that's a decent way to win an argument because you can't do miracles on command for them. The figure that obviously since they can't see anything happen there is no way that it can.
