our grandchildren will never know that women once had the right to vote and wear trousers. Agree or disagree?

Honey, I think it's time to take religion out of this equation. I have to agree that if ANY radically right-wing group gains full control women won't be the only ones who lose any concept of rights.

it sounds like you are not very familiar with right wing christianity on a personal level. There are a small minority of fundamentalist churches believe that Women should wear dresses and be blindly obedient to their husbands. Other churches, like mine, are a fundamentalist church where the pastor preaches from the Bible while wearing blue jeans (and his wife works outside the home and most definitely wears jeans, shorts, or what she is comfortable wearing). You just might be surprised to find out that most Right wingers are some awfully nice people. There are unfortunately some that give the rest a bad name.

You simply cannot lump everyone together and consider that every person in a category thinks and believes the same way, because we don't. This would be a huge mistake to lump everyone person into the same category.

And out of the hundreds of fundamentalists I have met, almost all support a woman's right to vote and most fundamentalist women wear what they want. Surprised??

I don't know. I think some would consider me right-wing and I'm a Christian.

I vote and I'm wearing trousers as I type this....

I do think we need stronger family units. I'm not sure what's going to get us there, but there are way too many children in this nation that are growing up neglected. That has consequences.

I don't believe that a woman can't work and have a career, but I do think that if a woman has children, they are more important than her career.

If the liberal have there way my grand kids will not know the joy in working hard and making it own their own. They will only know Their rut of a government given job, food lines and a police state.

If you dare to learn and not just go on what some one told you. You well see that god made women equal of men not above or below. This is what most Churches teach. you will fined a few that do not , but you will also find a church that teaches you to pray to my big toe.By the way we meet this Sat. you to can pray to my big toe.

We live in a free country the only ones that have tried to do what you are telling us is the liberals.

Three years ago, a local atheist couple and an agnostic couple became offended by the Boy Scouts' use of public land for a camp and headquarters in San Diego's Balboa Park. The couples contacted the American Civil Liberties Union and filed a lawsuit against the City of San Diego in U.S. District Court. Today, the Boy Scouts are at risk of being kicked out of Balboa Park after nearly 90 years of using it.

So tell me who is doing what again?

You definitely have a misunderstanding of Christians. Most Christians are not that way. I am a Christian and a woman and a conservative, and I think women should be able to vote and wear pants if they want to. So I disagree.

Oh, and I'm totally in agreement. And they will never know that we had the right to choose what religion, if any, we wanted to follow. If Bush gets his way, all of the people that don't follow chrisianity, their religion will no longer be nationally recongnized as a religion. It's sad that Bush feels so threatened by us, when he's one that is committing atrocities in the name of his god.

Indeed.
Not ALL Christians are like that though. Remember that.
Those right-wing Christians give us left-wing Christians a BAD BAD BAD name.

agree - these right-wing Christians want everyone to live their way!! Their way will send society back to the dark ages. In fact I've heard it said many times that we could be heading to a new dark age - they will be burning witches soon.

where do you get your reasonings?
Our grandchildren, if atheists have their way, will never have the opportunity to know God, will never understand that marriage was once a man and a woman, that America used to be a great nation.
It's the liberals who will destroy this nation from the inside.

There isn't really a huge percentage of Christians that are that conservative. There are definitely people like that, but I don't believe it will ever come to that. However, there are most certainly people out there that believe that is the way it should be.
