The biggest problem in bad marriages is usually the lack of conversation.

When people can use a bible, and start condemning everything outside their window, then at least they will never have lack of conversation.

"Religion" cannot save your marriage. There is budhism, Islam, Hinduism, etc. Now, if you really want to save your marrige, I highly recommend that you look at two things: 1) What is your complaint. Most marriages that go sour do so as a result of unmet needs or unrealistic expectations. Men and women have a different approach to life and mean to accomplish the same goals by different means. Men are very cut and dried and women concentrate on the process. I advise some marriage counseling with open hearts. 2) Rekindle your first love. Do the things that you used to do at first and romance each other all over again. Take care of your personal appearance (weight, hair, clothing, hygene), spend time together ALONE, no children included. The marriage relationship is NOT about the children, but about the COUPLE. If you do not get along, the children will suffer since they are the "fruit" of the relationship and not the relationship itself. Meet your marital relationship needs first.
As far as "religion" is concerned I will tell you this: God created men, women, and marriage. Having a proper relationship with God is a complete blessing, for your relationship and your children. People who love God cannot help but want to love their spouses all the more. I love my wife with all my heart and although I am not perfect, I make a concientious effort to be there for her all the time. If my marriage fails, I'll have to start all over again. Who in his right mind would want to do that anyway?
Finally, I recommend an easy reading book called "the five love languages." It has a pinkish cover with a heart shape on it. You need to educate your mind so that your heart may be directed and your emotions be proper. I wish you the best. Please live an intentional life and do not assume that simply because all seems well that it is. Be aggresive in love and business with a touch of gentleness. Be free to live, love, and enjoy life.
Mr. M on saving marriages.

No, but the example that Jesus gave can. He taught us to love and according to Him "No greater love has no man than this that he would lay down his life for his friends."

Christianity is should not be a religion. It is a relationship. The moment it becomes a religion, just a set of rules to follow, it loses its purpose.

I do believe the principles and lessons of Christianity can save a marriage because Christianity should be about love and trust, the same basis of any successful marriage.

A marriage with common beliefs and open communication saves a marriage. If that involves religion, then I guess religion can. It all depends on the couple.

Yes, religion can save your marriage. It can save your marriage if both parties believe and hold up to the ideals of their religion and that religion holds marriage in esteem.

I think sharing religious experiences could have a major impact on a marriage and help make it better....but, I'm not talking about just religion, I'm saying a religious experience.
For example, watching the sun rise, if that really moves you, makes you feel as though everything in the world is right...that would be a religious experience
Doing something that both of you feel is really amazing, and being together while doing it could probably bring you closer together.

Communication, Empathy, Trust and Love can save your marriage if you have lost them at some point. You can also have all those without having any religion or deities involved.
