For example, there is the Hugging Amma, the Kissing Swami, the man who calls himself God----have hindus lost their reasoning. They give millions of dollars to these scam artists---money that could feed so many indigent Indians.

They do not use their reasoning when going to such people and praying to such "gods". Thats why it's called "blind faith" or "andh vishwaas".
Illiteracy, fear, hopelessness all lead to such things.

My parents are hindu. I do have to agree with this point. The amount of money wasted on the false prophets is ridiculous, especially when there is so much poverty in India. However, such a thing can be found in many religions, to the point where people leave themselves broke just to give money to a certain religious institution or something like that. Its just stupid. I am not trying to bash religions or hinduism but I'm just saying that some of the things people give up for the sake of religion is dumb.

The Catholic Church is the greatest scam artist of all time. People STILL give millions of dollars to an organization which protects child molesters.

Who cares. False prophets or not. If someone is helped and their lives are changed for the better by a false prophet, then he is not false.
Leave the judging to God. He puts angels in gutters, and some call them gutter snipes.
