"Light Switch" getting OFF automatically specifically when we are not at home. We have generally seen this happen when we switch on the light before we go out for the evening and when we come back the switch gets turned off automatically. We have all our doors closed all windows closed and no one can do this mischief, so we are actually very scared. Earlier it was only when we used to be out of the house, now recently when I want to my bathroom I switched on the light that is just outside the bathroom so that when I come out it is not totally dark, but when I came out after bath the switch to my surprise was automatically OFF.. Any remedies for this ?.. I have contacted some in the world of reiki but when they do some treatment this problem gets resolved for 2 months or so and again it comes back.. any help in this regard shall be great.

It is a physical moment ( ON to OFF ), else we would not have got scared this much :-)

At work we just got motion sensitive switches. If there isn't any movement for so long, the lights turn themselves off. Saves a bunch on electricity. Of course they automatically turn themselves back on when we walk through.

Sounds like maybe a short in your wires or something. We used to have a lamp that did the same thing in a basement bedroom but when we moved the lamp it was fine.It couls also be some kind of motion sensor.I wouldn't get too freaked out, call an electrician.

does the switch physically move, or just the light go out...if you have an old house, you probably have aluminum wiring touching copper wiring...which tends to corrode and leads to faulty plugs, switches and lighting
