How did the word "right" become a synonym for "correct"? Why can't anyone give me the "left" answer?

Why does no one ever say, "that's the left answer" as apposed to "that's the right answer"? Or does that mean that "left" can also be used as "wrong"?

You're right. Left is sometimes used in politics for example. Right and wrong are antonyms - Your question is good, I think we'll get a better answer, more specific with some references...there are some pretty smart people out here, Right?
